Yue Nang is an important, award-winning Chinese-Singaporean Contemporary Artist. Having trained in the methods of traditional Chinese Master painters, Tung incorporates ideas of Western-realism, with Eastern simplicity and philosophy. He subscribes to the Chinese way of Tao Te Ching (Classic Of The Way Of Power), the base of the ancient art of Taoism (Natural Order of the Universe), and this is evident in his calculated, harmonious, balanced artworks. The adjoining circles of water droplets is a subtle depiction of the Taiji symbol (aka 'yin and 'yang'), representing the primordial feminine and masculine energies, whose interplay gives birth to the manifest world. The five coloured stones represent the 'Five Elements'; Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal & Water. All these energies give birth to all of manifest existence ("Ten-Thousand things"). This rare, original oil was exhibited in 'Heaven On Earth; the Bali Sojourn' (2000) at the Paragon, Singapore.
