Wreford is a forgotten Kenyan-born Australian painter. She attended the South Australian School of Arts after arriving in Adelaide in 1923. She exhibited her semi-abstract paintings in Adelaide, Perth & Melbourne, as well as her birthplace, Nairobi (1968). Her work is represented in a number of institutions, including the National Gallery Of Australia, & numerous regional galleries. Prominent sculptor John Dowie produced a portrait bust of Wreford, which is in the permanent collection of the NGV.
