Grant is a respected Australian Abstract Expressionist. She studied at the National Art School, & Sydney University, and is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS). She is also a respected art historian (M.A.). Over the last five decades she has won over thirty art awards and has presented solo public and commercial exhibitions both here and abroad. Lyn has been a finalist in the Archibald, Sulman, Wynne and Portia Geach awards. Her art/philosophy book, Alchemical Gold (1985) which contains her unique abstracts is now in the rare books libraries of Harvard and Bodleian Oxford. Although long retired from being an artist/teacher at the National Art School Lyn continues to paint full time seeking out beautiful and fragile environments expressed in the Impressionist style, and abstracts based on philosophical, esoteric and spiritual concepts.
