Thinh is an influential and pioneering Vietnamese Mid Century painter. She was the first female painter from Southern Vietnam who graduated from the École Supérieur des Beaux Arts de Saigon, in 1958. She is a leading proponent in figurature painting and portraiture, alongside her husband, Nguyen Tri Minh. Between 1965 -1975 she exhibited Internationally in solo and group shows in Australia, France, Japan, Taiwan, Brazil and the United States. During this period she was also the Professor of the National College of Gia Dinh MT School after 1975, Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts. In 1986, she emigrated to the United States and from 1995-7 she was showcased in the "An Ocean Apart" Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition, & in 2002 was awarded the Certificate of Recognition of California State for services to Fine Art. This impressive Mid Century Kitsch work is reminiscent of the 'Big Eye' paintings of Margaret Keane.
