Sydney Long A.R.E was an important, influential Australian Symbolist and pioneering Printmaker. He was an exceptionally fine etcher, but also developed a name for himself painting stylized Australian bush landscapes. Influenced by Heidelberg School artists such as Arthur Streeton and Frederick McCubbin, he pioneered a new style of Australian paganism and Art Nouveau, creating a mythical and poetic vision of the Australian bush. His paintings and etchings are widely represented in all major Australian Galleries and several English collections.

This RARE line etching is one of only 30 Long produced of this image, the largest Kookaburra-themed etching he completed, and it is also represented in the National Gallery of Australia Collection!!
