Rosaleen 'Roie' Norton was a famous Australian Artist, Model, Feminist & Occultist. Known as the "Witch Of King's Cross", was famous for her mystical, eccentric, visionary paintings and lifestyle that reflected her esoteric, outsider beliefs. She represented a subculture of free love and expression at odds with the fiercely conservative Australia in the 1950s-60s. She received great persecution, but paved the way to acceptance for modern female artists in all fields. Norton remains one of the most important, controversial and influential women in Australian history. Norton works are VERY RARE, and sought after, particularly by members of alternative religions and the occult. She is an icon of Sydney, a pioneering feminist and the epitome of Kings Cross in it's heyday. Her fame transcends Australia, and she is extremely popular in the United States
