Desmond Norman was an Australian modernist artist based in Melbourne. Norman was also an art teacher and worked as an art therapist. His early paintings were stylised realistic pictures of buildings and landscapes. In 1966 he exhibited a series of pictures on the theme of 'Daisy Bates' the Aboriginal welfare worker. His work is represented in the National Gallery in Canberra, National Gallery Of Victoria and in the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.
