McLellan was a prominent Australian Modernist and Printmaker. She is based in NSW and is regarded as one of Australia's premier printmakers; producing numerous etchings, relief prints, and screenprints, and has been a longtime member of the Sydney Printmakers Society. She has exhibited her work professionally from 1967 until the late nineties. Her work can be found in numerous important collections including The Foreign Affairs Dept Canberra, State Government Collections NSW, Monash University Melbounre, College of Fine Arts NSW, IBM Sydney Collection, The Lands Commission Sydney & private collections. This work is one of McLellan's earliest pieces, and comes from the collection of contemporary, Frances Woolley.
