Lionel Lindsay began as a freelance journalist and artist, contributing to such publications as the "Bulletin", but soon established himself as a master etcher. He was also known for his woodcuts and watercolours of Australia and abroad, especially Spain, inspired by his extensive travels. He was knighted in 1941 for his contributions to Australian Art locally & internationally. He is well represented in all major galleries and private collections, and the Lionel Lindsay Gallery in Toowoomba, Queensland.

 

This impressive aquatint is also represented in the Art Gallery of NSW, National Library Of Australia, Gippsland Art Gallery & Te Papa Museum in Wellington, NZ!!
