Sekar is a respected Indonesian Painter. A student of Arie Smit, his home and studio was based in Kamasan, Klungkung. Sekar began his professional art career as a painter, but soon became well known for his brass 'trench art'. His works include ornate carving on large brass bullet shells (some sourced from the East Timor Crisis in the late 1990s) and were inspired by Hindu themes, including the Ramayana. So popular were his bullet sculpures, he completed several important sculptural commissions for the Indonesian Government.
