Hall is an important Australian Mid Century Expressionist & Antipodeon. She was twenty-three when she debuted at South Yarra Gallery in Melbourne to high praise. Alongside Joy Hester and Mirka Mora, Anne Hall forged a compelling female voice in the male dominated world of Australian modern art. Her works add a significant female perspective to the canon of Australian modernism. Hall was a significant figure in the Antipodean movement of artists who were associated with the Heide Museum Of Modern Art, alongside her husband, John Perceval, also Arthur Boyd, Sidney Nolan, Joy Hester and Albert Tucker. Her works are represented in all major National Galleries in Australia, including The National Gallery of Australia, the Ian Potter Museum and the Geelong Gallery.
