Goya was a legendary Spanish painter, Royal portraitist & printmaker. Immensely successful in his lifetime, Goya is often referred to as both the last of the Old Masters and the first of the moderns, and his influence on those artists who followed, such as Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dali, is unparalleled. We are very lucky to have this early state work from his famous, 'Los Caprichos' (1799), a series of 80 aquatints and etchings depicting Goya's condemnation of the universal follies and foolishness in the Spanish society in which he lived.
