Feint was an influential Australian Modernist. Having studied at the Julian Ashton Art School, Feint became Australia's premier bookplate designer and commercial illustrator, contributing several covers to important national publications such as 'The Home' magazine. His artwork is represented in all National Collections. "Circe" would go on to inspire Feint's dear friend, Thea Proctor, to produce her own black and white woodcut series, and we are lucky to have an original of Proctor's "1875" (1932) also available .
