Ernst was a well respected West Australian Expressionist. She was known for her semi-abstract and naturalistic works, thematically inspired by her extensive travels, particularly Africa. Her works are very rare, but when they have surfaced on the secondary market, demand high prices at major auctionhouses nationwide.
