Drew was a wildly underrated Australian figurative painter William Drew (1928-1983). This is a wonderful, intimate example of mid-century figurative painting. Drew studied at the Melbourne Institute of Technology, before travelling extensively and painting in countries like Brazil and Italy, and held several successful solo shows in Australia. He died tragically at the age of 55 in a car accident in France.
