Csank was a respected Austrian Painter. She was born in Vienna where her father owned a factory with 300 workers. She traveled with her parents to London and Paris, learned languages, played piano, and received lessons in Art History. In 1896 she undertook her first painting lessons, and quickly established herself as a talented genre and landscape painter. In 1908 she married Eduard Csank, also an established painter, and they exhibited together in Vienna in 1914 at the outbreak of World War I.
