Adingra was Prince of Kinjabo of the Ivory Coast, and an acclaimed
artist. Having studied at the State University of Abidjan, he rejected his succession to the throne of Kinjabo, to study at the Academy Of Fine Arts in Marseille. He was inspired by primitive African art and the recurring theme of 'magic' that still forms an essential part of African culture. He used his own technique by first covering his canvases with a sandstone-like mixture on which he then applies his colours. He exhibited Internationally throughout his career to great acclaim.
